MELVILLE, N.Y., March 16, 2017 – To help customers conquer overwhelming workloads and better meet deadlines, Canon U.S.A., a leader in digital imaging, has announced the release of the imageFORMULA DR-X10C II production scanner for high-volume scanning environments, replacing the venerable imageFORMULA DR-X10C production document scanner. The imageFORMULA DR-X10C II offers reliable and flexible document handling and a durable design, with some added features. Previously an option, the imageFORMULA DR-X10C II includes as standard a built-in Kofax CGA board to enhance image quality and improve speed, as well as Kofax VirtualReScan® software. The DR-X10C II device lends itself to a variety of uses, including high-volume batch scanning, backfile conversion, archiving and general document management activities, positioning the device well for financial services, healthcare, legal settings and government applications.

“One of Canon’s foremost priorities is to see that our customers have the tools they need to manage their business efficiently,” said Toyotsugu Kuwamura, executive vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “Designed to manage heavy workloads without sacrificing quality, the imageFORMULA DR-X10CII device is an excellent choice for businesses who manage document-intensive processes, specifically those in the financial, healthcare and public sectors. Now including a built-in Kofax CGA board, Canon is committed to continued innovation of our products to meet the needs of our customers.”

Enhanced Speed & Image Quality

Canon’s imageFORMULA DR-X10C II is capable of scanning at speeds of up to 130ppm in color, monochrome and grayscale for both sides of an item in a single pass.1 The integration of the Kofax CGA board and VirtualReScan® software allows for more effective image processing and helps improve the scan quality of input, as well as the speed for converting scanned documents into searchable files. Through the VirtualReScan® interactive viewer, users can observe and adjust the quality of an image during the scan. Among other features included to help improve image processing are text orientation recognition, automatic color detection and auto adjustment for brightness and contrast to help reproduce the original image with exceptional quality.

Intuitive Interface with Durable Design

The imageFORMULA DR-X10C II features a robust, compact design with a user-friendly control panel. From the control panel, users can program pre-registered Scan-to-Job buttons, check operator updates and easily select scanner settings. To allow users the ability to get right to work, the feeding tray of the device opens automatically when powered on to begin scanning right away.

Versatile, Dependable Scanning

A crucial component of many scanning operations is the ability to process a wide variety of document types and sizes, especially when conducting high-volume bulk scanning. The imageFORMULA DR-X10C II meets this need with its ability to scan documents up to 11 x 17 inches or 22 x 34 inches, as well as business cards and oversized documents. The device’s Ultrasonic Double-Feed Detection sensors detects when at least two documents are fed into scanner, helping prevent multiple pages being fed together and helping to ensure that all input is captured – a feature that is critical to high-volume batch scanning operations. To help alleviate workflow disruption, the imageFORMULA DR-X10C II takes advantage of a Double-Feed Retry mechanism to reverse misfeeds and continue scanning with Canon’s Rapid Recovery System.
